Ports International Donation of Wheelchairs to Geriatrics Hospital

Ports International, "Suppliers of medical solutions for a better quality of life", demonstrated the serious-ness of their logo during their recent visit to the Geri-atric Hospital at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre (SRC), on May 3, 2018. Ports presented (5) five new wheelchairs to be used by the patients of the Geriat-ric Hospital.

Ports International is a friend of Sandilands Rehabili-tation Centre; with this donation being one of many charitable gestures by this company. These wheel-chairs are critical to sustain the mobility of the cli-ents. Health experts have said that regular exercise for the elderly offers great benefits, including extend-ing lifespan; but alarmingly, only one in four people between the ages of 65 and 74 exercise regularly.

The Staff and clients of the Geriatric Hospital in par-ticular, truly appreciate this donation, that will cer-tainly improve the quality of life of their users. Hope-fully, they will be used to rehearse for next year’s Push-a-thon.

The wheelchairs were received by, (from left to right): Dr. Govindaraju Ramaraju, Sis. Denise Kemp Smith (Sr. Nursing Officer), Mrs. Michelle Rassin Moodie (Ports International), Miss Betsy Duvalier (Assistant Director of Communications), Ports Inter-national Associate and Dr. Indira Grimes (Consultant Geriatric Hospital)
